Overview
The Church has always supported parents to fulfill the solemn promises they made when they brought their children to the waters of baptism - to bring them up the knowledge and practice of the Catholic Faith.
Parish based religious education is offered through different programs under different names such as Sunday school, Faith Formation or CCD (the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine).
Here at St. Timothy’s we strive to fulfill the best elements of
a. Keeping Sunday sacred by attendance at Mass
b. Providing an environment for age-appropriate formation in faith
c. Learning the essential teachings of the Church.
What Grades are you presently serving for Sunday School?
Beginning on Sunday October 2nd, we will be offering Sunday School for children who are in Grades 1 through 8.
When does Sunday School begin?
Sunday School classes begin on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 9:30 AM in the Church Hall.
What about Sunday Mass?
Families should attend either the Sunday Mass at 8:30am or 10:30am.
How do I enroll my children for Sunday School?
Please download and printout the Registration Form at the bottom of this page. It will provide us with the essential information we need.
Is there a cost?
To ensure we are covered for the material we use we are asking each family to contibute $100 and an additional $20 for each additional child in your household, and the same again for any add on classes (such as for special First Holy Communion) No active family of the parish community will be turned away because of financial hardship.
How does my child prepare for First Holy Communion?
Two years of Religious Education is expected to ensure that children are properly prepared for both their First Confession and their Frist Holy Communion. If you are anticipating a First Holy Communion in the Spring of 2023, families are asked to attend a required parent information meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 5:45 PM in the Church Hall, to learn about the program.
What if my children are a little older, have not recieved any Sacraments or never had religious education?
We can always find a solution! Please work with our Director who will suggest some of the options we can use to accomadate your children.
What if I use a Catholic Home School curriculum or my children attend a Catholic School?
If you are Home Schooling or your children attend a Catholic School, you are only required to attend the supplimental classes if the children are preparing for First Holy Communion. However, it is important that the pastor knows this to ensure his responcibilities are met. Please do this by filling out the below resistration form, write in "HOME SCHOOL/CATHOLIC SCHOOL" on the form. The pastor or the director will contact you to ensure you have the necessary materials and information to present your child for First Holy Communion.
